While both TOGAF and ArchiMate are owned and updated by the Open Group, the relationship between the two can be somewhat contentious. The ArchiMate enterprise architecture modeling language is an excellent tool for TOGAF practitioners, but there has been criticism in the past that the two do not always work well together.

Part 2 of this paper looks at many of the changes introduced with ArchiMate 3.0 and how they helped to improve the relationship between ArchiMate and TOGAF.
