Although some aspects of the TOGAF® meta model are covered in the TOGAF exams, generally speaking the meta model is not a part of the documentation that receives a lot of attention. But if you think of the meta model as summarising all of the types of components that are included in an enterprise architecture, then the relationships in the meta model describe the fundamental structure and configuration of a typical architecture.
